So if you want to learn to cook sushi you are going to have to get all the ingredients and supplies. This includes a bamboo rolling mat, cutting board, sharp knife, wooden spoon or spatula, large wooden or glass bowl, medium grain rice, rice vinegar, sugar, Nori seaweed or soybean paper for the rolls, Wasabi, Gari, fish, and soy sauce.

Now there are a few different types of sushi rolls that you can make, but the Californian roll is the most popular. This is the one kind that you will almost always see in sushi restaurants because it is one of the most popular types.

You want to spread a cup of cooked rice on a sheet of Nori leaving an inch of the Nori uncovered so that you are going to have room to roll it. Now you want to leave the rice loose and never pack it down because this is going to make it too thick, you don’t want to put too much rice on here, no more than ¼-inch thick layer.

Now you put some avocado slices on top of the rice, and then a piece of meat, now add several strips of cucumber next to the crab and on top of the avocado.

Now you just have to roll it up and make sure that you roll with medium pressure so that it is going to stay closed. This way you will be able to cut it up before serving. Remember, this is not the only way to learn to cook sushi, and it really all depends on the type of sushi roll or other sushi appetizer that you want to serve.
